Our Holiday Getaway-Part 5

Sunset at Moonstone Beach

There is a little picnic area in San Simeon Pines that we have been stopping at for years. I have wonderful memories of picnicing there with my mom, Cathy, and her mom. Every trip to the Apple Farm, it has been our tradition to get a box lunch and then head out north along Hwy 1 for the day...wherever it may lead us. This particular day we arrived a little late for our picnic, but we were right on time for one of the prettiest sunsets I've seen in years. Just beware of the seagulls...they aren't shy...ask Emilee who almost lost her apple!

Looking south at Moonstone Beach...

Our view from the picnic table...

Emilee enjoying her box lunch...better late than never! Besides, at seven years old, when you've seen one sunset, you've seen 'em all!

This was the last shot of the day...it was quite dark by then...this was about a 2.5 sec exposure looking back up north.

Two more posts to go...SLO Chinatown and Pismo Beach State Park...check back!
