Our Weekend Getaway-Final Chapter

Pismo State Beach

On our way home, we stopped at Pismo State Beach (excellent suggestion, Auntie Cathy!). It was the perfect way to end our trip. Thousands of Monarch Butterflys spend the winter in the trees at the North Beach Campground...a really wonderful place. Pismo is halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and has a moderate climate all year round, with an average temperature of 60 degrees summer and winter. Summers tend to be foggy, and winters clear and windy. Water temperatures both summer and winter are cold, often less than 58 degrees.
My kind of weather!!!

We parked right by the entrance to the grove...

And here's that learned Entemologist, Empie Rocket, about to begin her field study of the Monarch...

Thousands of Monarch Butterflys hang from the trees in the grove...

Here's about as close as I could get....

This beach has everything ...beautiful trails....

Nice sand dunes....

Gorgeous views...

And an incredible beach...

Could there be any more beautiful background???

Signing off from the sunny California Central Coast...where life truly is better!
